Nevertheless, She Persisted

Exhibition Statement: Women artists face challenges that can inhibit their creative work: raising children, beginning new careers, moving to a foreign country, facing a life-threatening illness, caring for aging parents, and changing careers in mid-life.
Nevertheless, She Persisted.
Despite the unique challenges of womanhood, or because of these challenges, womxn continue to create…to heal, to express emotions not easily put into words, because of spiritual or financial necessity, to connect to a larger community, to find joy, to tell stories, to give back to those who have supported them, to overcome limitations, to show the next big idea, to find one’s way regardless of the lack of permission or acceptance.
Nevertheless, She Persisted.
Persistence is our theme. Persistence is our credo. Persistence is our call.

Exhibition Location: Obelisk Gallery’s Lower Level Gallery located in Obelisk Home, 214 W. Phelps St., Suite #101, Springfield, MO 65806

Inward Reflections: Unveiled Through the Landscape

Inward Reflections: Unveiled Through the Landscape

Solo show of landscape works. In my acrylic paintings, I embrace the medium’s quick-drying nature to capture moments swiftly. Through vibrant hues, I amplify colors, aiming to evoke a sense of vitality. My art delves into the profound connection between myself and the Ozarks, my lifelong home. Reflecting on the landscape’s grandeur, I confront my place within it, acknowledging my insignificance and integral role in its ecosystem. Just as the land continually evolves and renews itself, so too do I, paralleling its endless cycles of growth and transformation in my own life’s journey.

Opening Reception: February 7th, 5-8 pm. Drury’s Pool Gallery, 940 N. Clay Ave. Springfield, Mo.

Slow Viewing: February 20th, Sponsored by the Springfield Art Museum. Must register on the museum’s website for this free event. Register at this link: https://sgfmuseum.org/Activities/Activity/Detail/Slow-Viewing-2025-237

The show will run through February 28th.
